Aims and Objectives

The promotion and preservation of good mental health among young people irrespective of their sex, race, political or religious beliefs through the provision of a free and confidential counselling service particularly but not exclusively within the area covered by the East Midlands regional Development Agency (herein after referred to as the Area of Benefit)

To advance the education of young people within the area of benefit by the provision and promotion of training facilities and courses.

CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People) is a registered charity and is currently funded to offer free, confidential counselling and support to young people aged 9 to 24 within the Newark and Sherwood and Bassetlaw Districts of North Nottinghamshire. The service offers young people an opportunity to speak to a trained counsellor in confidence about any issue of importance to them. Counselling sessions may end after just a few sessions, or may continue over many months.
Each Counsellor has been carefully selected for their experience and their ability to understand the pressures and conflicts young people face today. All Counsellors and staff of CASY are checked through the Criminal Records Bureau to assess their suitability to work with young people.

We are committed to working in partnership with other agencies for the well being of young people. CASY staff run creative workshops for young people as well as providing training for counsellors in therapeutic techniques.
