CASY history
CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People) started in 1998 when there was a perceived lack of emotional support and counselling for young homeless people in the Newark and Sherwood District of North Nottinghamshire. Originally working at the Unique Coffee Bar, the work of CASY gradually widened to encompass new venues and areas.

In 2000 CASY was registered as a charity and has gradually increased both in the number of volunteer Therapists and areas benefitting from the service. CASY now provides counselling in many schools throughout North Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire. Staff work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies to provide training, drama and art activities for young people, therapists and school staff, as well as providing our one to one counselling service.
